Paul Cee is an artist from Belfast. He draws much of his inspiration from the relationship between the visual arts and music. Through his interest in choral music he has developed four different styles and feels compelled to paint under four different names and tones as in the choir, i.e. Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass. "Julia Duff" is the soprano who paints vibrant local scenes and musically related paintings in a liberated and vibrant style. Joy Lin is the oriental alto who paints mainly landscapes in an Irish theme. Featured in much of her work is the enigmatic girl in the white dress. Paul DiMarco is a tenor with the same vocal range as Paul Cee himself. Therefore in his most personalised role, Paul DiMarco’s paintings are carefully crafted abstract portraits illustrating the joys and woes of modern life on the features of the painted subjects. Jon Paclar is the mad bass who paints weird and wonderful abstracts. Colour and ingenuity with more than a hint of mystery are the order of the day in the parallel world of Jon Paclar. Cee hopes that the totality of his work enjoys a harmony and richness where the whole picture is greater than its sum parts.
